The aec© method

aec©
is a scientifically based and constantly evaluated method of determining a person’s behaviour and motivation. It was developed from the synthesis of the theories and models of Carl Gustav Jung (“Methods of psychological types”), the “DISC” theory of William Marston and the motivation research of Eduard Spranger.

aec©
can be used in a supporting role in many personnel and management processes. It provides fundamental information to uncover and investigate behavioural patterns to permit optimal use of potential or improved adaption to the working environment.

The aec© profile

The data obtained from a self-evaluation (online questionnaire) is summarised in a personal assessment which indicates our possible preferences, strengths, weaknesses and motivation. The analysis of these results (in discussion with a coach) leads to improved understanding of our interactions – the knowledge gained from this is implemented in a follow-up process.

aec process

The aec© method distinguishes between our natural and our adapted behavioural style. The natural style shows us how we behave in stress situations, the adapted style (which we can influence in a positive manner) how we behave in work situations.

The language of colour

Understanding the language of colour enables us

  • to recognise our own behavioural style
  • to understand the behavioural style of others
  • to adapt and coordinate behavioural styles to enable a more efficient  coexistence

The language of colour is the universal language of our behaviour. All people in the world show similar behavioural patterns and tendencies which (under the aec© method) can be subdivided into four basic style types:

  • the leading style
  • the mediating style
  • the cooperative style
  • the normative style

aec motivation

The motives of our actions

A fundamental component of the aec© method is the question of motives of our actions. Why do we do things the way we do? What motivates us to achieve our objectives? Is it a matter of knowledge for us? A matter of aesthetics? Do we act for materialistic reasons? Do we wish to serve others? To fulfil ourselves? Or do we simply represent traditional values? The answers to these questions round off the overall picture of an aec© analysis.

aec© provides answers to questions such as:

  • How do I communicate?
  • What is my style of leadership?
  • What is my selling style?
  • How do I behave in a team?
  • How do I react to pressure?
  • How do I fulfil a task?
  • How do I handle challenges?
  • How do I face up to career changes?
  • How do I deal with information?
  • How and how quickly do I take decisions?

Areas of application of the
aec© method

The aec© method supports you in recognising and further developing both your own potential as well as that of your employees. In the recruitment process, the aec© method helps you evaluate those candidates who will contribute to the success of your company with enthusiasm and expertise. In team and leadership situations, the use of the aec© method helps develop quicker and more sustainable solutions. Thanks to the knowledge gained, employees can be allocated to areas of work and responsibilities that motivate them to achieve the highest performance levels.

However, aec© does not by itself constitute a solution; rather, it very quickly provides valuable indications on which you can base your strategies and decisions. That is the great strength of this method.

COACHING AND TRAINING

Self-knowledge

Within the framework of a coaching process, the aec© method supports you in recognising and further developing your own potential, your own style of communication. You become aware of your own behavioural patterns and motivation levels, and develop these further in a beneficial manner.

Selling

Developing relations in a customer-oriented manner is a decisive factor in sales. Recognise the personality of your opposite number and use this knowledge for your sales strategy.

Leadership

Within the scope of a training and coaching process, the aec© method encourages the development of a situation and person-oriented style of leadership. The need for motivation and communication is recognised better and quicker, and responsibility delegated more easily.

Team development

Recognise and make effective use of the various strengths in a team by understanding the individual persons. By doing so, create synergies for more effective cooperation.

Development of the organisation and Change Management

The aec© method helps you to better understand the dynamics and culture of an organisation and its players in change processes. The method enables these processes to be conducted in a more efficient and sustainable manner and helps recognise and initiate any changes of objective in good time.
